CSUSB
Vietnamese Student Association – Hội Sinh Viên Việt Nam
California State University, San Bernardino
CSUSB’s Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) exists in order to connect the worlds of the Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese public. VSA at CSUSB is an organization which seeks to increase the awareness of the Vietnamese culture and history in its local community. CSUSB VSA hosts events and volunteers in services that focus on educational, cultural, social, and political empowerment. CSUSB VSA also promotes the idea that diversity in every person is what relates people all together and teaches them to learn of their similarities. By engaging in this organization, members learn to discover their cultural and personal identity, while making friends at the same time. CSUSB VSA’s goals for this academic year include: to grow awareness of and strengthen the pride in the Vietnamese culture at CSUSB; to gain appreciation and insights into other cultural groups different from theirs. CSUSB VSA also strives to help the Vietnamese people fight the exploitation of women and children. Finally, CSUSB VSA carries the hope to end all evils in Vietnam and to inspire an appreciation of Vietnamese culture everywhere.
