UCSD
Vietnamese Student Association – Hội Sinh Viên Việt Nam
University of California, San Diego
The Vietnamese Student Association at UCSD was first established in 1977. Since then, it has grown and progressed into an organization that exposes the Vietnamese culture through academics, social, cultural, and community events. Some of the biggest events that UCSD VSA plans every year are: in the fall quarter, semi-formal – a night of fun and dancing that allows people from UCSD as well as UVSA to dress up, get to know each other, and dance all night; in the winter quarter, UCSD VSA’s annual high school conference – a day dedicated to inform high school students, from all San Diego and Orange County, how to apply and succeed in college; and in the spring quarter, UCSD VSA hosts a Culture Night show that always has an intricate and heartfelt storyline, filled with amazing performances – singing, dancing, martial arts, fashion show, and more. Each year UCSD VSA strives to educate and help its members find an interest in the Vietnamese culture and encourage them to get involved with the community.
